Frequently Asked Questions

Why is SafeSight™ non-invasive?
Because it’s non-cutting.  This means that no cut is made into your eye with a metal blade (as in LASIK) or with another cutting laser (as in IntraLase or i-LASIK).

Why would you want SafeSight™ over LASIK?
You can never eliminate the risk of cutting a flap unless you actually stop cutting flaps–which Dr. Chynn stopped doing in 2005, when he introduced SafeSight™ to NYC!
Because your cornea is never cut and no flap is made in SafeSight™, night glare is avoided.  In fact, after SafeSight™, many of our patients say that their night vision is actually better than it was before in glasses or contacts!
Because SafeSight™ doesn’t cut your cornea and its nerves, your blink rate afterwards is the same as a normal, unoperated eye–hence, no dry eyes!
